We are preparing our plans for the redevelopment of the Hertford Industrial Estate, which will deliver a mix of commercial units for today’s economy, and a number of high-quality homes. We are keen to run a comprehensive consultation process that allows our design team to take into account the views of the local community. As such, we would encourage you to use the ‘Have Your Say’ tab to let us know what you think.

The aim of this website is to collect feedback on the emerging plans. This will be fed back to the design team who will consider your comments when developing the plans. The feedback will be admissible in a Statement of Community Involvement. This will only happen if we collect the views of local residents. To make sure this happens, we advertise locally and encourage local residents and other stakeholders to submit feedback.

If you are a local resident or business and leave a valid name and address, we will submit your feedback – anonymously – as part of the application’s Statement of Community Involvement, as well as taking it into account when developing our proposal ahead of submission. Before the acquisition of the site by Eastwood it was owned by LaSalle, a leading Industrial Management and Investment company. Despite extensive experience in this field, they were unable to make the site viable purely as commercial use. By adding a residential element to the site, we are able to bring forward an enhanced quality of business space that will deliver increased jobs at the site.

As well as constructing significantly more energy-efficient buildings than those that occupy the current site, the increase in the amount, and connectivity, of the green space in the area will have a notable effect on biodiversity. We are also developing our plans with a view to incorporating ecological enhancements, and climate-resilient measures including electric vehicle charging points and additional walking and cycle paths.
